NT Department Of Primary Industries & Resources Selects Nobili Mulcher For Coastal Plains Research Farm

Located about sixty kilometres south east from Darwin the Coastal Plains Research Farm of the Northern Territory Department of Primary Industry and Resources (DPIR) performs a diverse range of projects that value add to tropical horticulture.
Important trials on an ongoing basis are undertaken into new and established varieties, quality control, biosecurity and fertilizer and irrigation applications.
The Research Farm has recently purchased a new Nobili BNU195 mulcher with a 1.94 metre working width to undertake a variety of roles on the 130-hectare farm.
Farm manager Peter Hopkinson says these will include general grounds maintenance and mowing, to regular mulching of crop residues, stubbles and pruned materials, particularly the heavier residues remaining on the inter rows between tree and orchard plantings after end of season pruning.
The Nobili was supplied by Silvan Australia and Nobili master dealer, the Humpty Doo based Farmworld NT.
Locally based, Farm World NT sells and supports an extensive tractor range and supporting implements, including the Silvan Australia range of spraying and associated rural equipment.
Coastal Plains Research Farm manager Peter Hopkinson said that the new Nobili mulcher will also play a key role in the objective of returning organic matter to the soil.
“We have used an older mulcher for many years but chose to purchase the new Nobili BNU195/01 mulcher because of the excellent durability and the ready break down of the harder and larger diameter pruning materials that result as end of season residues.”
