Founded in 1980 Italian machinery manufacturer DCM has been supplying the world’s farming and agricultural markets with a unique range of fertilizer spreaders.
The DCM spreader range is represented locally by Silvan Australia and a key feature of the DCM range is the fabrication of the spreader hoppers and other contacts in high grade stainless steel.
This is critical in dealing with corrosive materials like urea (nitrogen) and the issues that can occur in coastal or marine environments where spreaders with unprotected steel or painted hoppers can experience failure through rust or corrosion.
The DCM Stainless range available from Silvan includes optional spreaders with load capacities of 900, 1200, 1500 or 2,000 litres that are ideally suited to medium horsepower tractors.
The DCM range is noted for Italian manufactured quality and precision with broadcast spreading up to 24 metres and optional side conveyor for banding, and are designed to suit farmers or spreading contractors.
Chris Tait Silvan’s area manager for Tasmania reports that the DCM Range is quickly finding a market in coastal farming districts of Tasmania in marine environments where salt laden spray or winds typically cause premature failure for spreaders with traditional painted hoppers.
“Farmers and spreading contractor clients are expressing high satisfaction levels with the DCM build quality and long operating life that the stainless components will provide” Mr Tait says.
