Silvan appoints new CEO

Silvan Australia Pty Ltd, the prominent private family owned spraying equipment, agricultural machinery and merchandise business, has appointed Sean Ralphsmith as Chief Executive Officer based at the group’s Dandenong South headquarters in Victoria.

Sean joins Silvan from Landmark AWB where he held the appointment of General Manager Merchandise in their Melbourne head office for the last three years.

He also has significant executive experience in his career embracing consumer goods, water products and the agricultural chemicals sector having originally begun his business career with Shell Australia in the late 1980s.

Sean says “the Silvan and Selecta brand names are exceptionally well recognised in the Australian agricultural and related market sectors. This recognition is a great platform from which to continue to build our excellent product range.

“My focus as CEO will be on achieving customer satisfaction drawing upon leading edge innovation, expertise and technical support for our customers.”

Silvan Australia has offices in Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth and in New Zealand.

AFL fans will probably also recognise Sean as the veteran of four senior games with Hawthorn in their heyday from 1988 to 1990 and thirty games played with St Kilda during the 1991 to 1994 seasons.

With a young family Sean maintains an interest in football by coaching his son’s local under 11 team in Melbourne’s Bayside competition.
